FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The reigning Southeastern Conference Champion University of Arkansas women’s cross country program announced its schedule for the upcoming 2014 season, which is highlighted by the Razorbacks hosting the 2014 NCAA South Central Regional in November.
The Razorbacks will compete in four regular season races to prep for the 2014 SEC Championships, as the team will look to win back-to-back conference titles this season.
The team hits the West Coast to open the year on Sept. 6, as they travel to Irvine, Calif., to compete in the adidas/UCI Invitational. After a week off, Arkansas travels up to Joplin, Mo., on Sept. 20 to run in the Missouri Southern Stampede.
The Razorbacks host their lone regular season meet of the 2014 season on Oct. 4, when they play host to the Chile Pepper Invitational. Last season, the Razorbacks collected a first-place team finish in the 15-team event. On Oct. 17 Arkansas will compete in its second return race from the 2013 season, as they travel to Madison, Wisc., to compete in the Wisconsin adidas Invitational. Last season, the Razorbacks earned a second-place finish in the 37-team field.
After a week off, Arkansas will look to defend its 2013 SEC Championship title at the 2014 SEC Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Oct. 31.
Fayetteville will host the 2014 NCAA South Central Regional on Nov. 14 and this year’s NCAA Championships will be held once again in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 22.
