Defense flying to ball at UA practice

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team practiced Tuesday inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in its continued preparation for its April 16 spring game. The annual spring game will be televised nationally for the first time by ESPN at 3 p.m.

Defensive coordinator and secondary coach Willy Robinson met the media following the afternoon workout, commenting on Saturday’s practice when UA’s offense and defense matched against each other.

"We went out there and stopped the run on a fairly consistent basis," Coach Robinson said. "We executed our defensive plan pretty well."

Coach Robinson made note of Arkansas’ overall defensive plan, which he explains is to constantly put Razorback defenders around the football.

"We really emphasize running full speed to the ball every play," Coach Robinson said. "It’s a conditioned response, but it’s also a conditioning aspect."

UA is scheduled to practice on the following dates: April 6, 8, 9, 12, 13 and 15. The practice schedule is subject to change and fans are encouraged to check ArkansasRazorabacks.com daily for updated dates and times, along with post-practice reports.
