Despite rain Lingmerth finds silver lining

WAYZATA, Minn.- The University of Arkansas men’s golf team wrapped up round three of the Gopher Invitational on Sunday. Moving up eight spots from round two, David Lingmerth clinched second place with a score of 71, ending overall with a one-under score of 215(74-70-71) for the tournament.

Allen McFerrin also played well on day three bouncing back from his day one score. He ended the invitational with a 6-over, 222 (80-70-72), tying for 18th place. Sophomore, Samuel Chavez turned in a final round score of 77, Ethan Tracy a 7-over 79, and Andrew Landry finished with an 81.

As a team the Razorbacks finished ninth place for the 54-hole event, adding 13 strokes from day two for a 26-over 890 (305-286-299).

“Things sort of fell apart on the back nine, but we are going to regroup and get back to where we need to be for Notre Dame,” said head coach Brad McMakin, “We have a good team.”

The Razorbacks next play at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic on Oct. 6th and 7th.
