Final: #22/24 Arkansas 5, Saint Louis 2 | Box Score

Arkansas had a runner in scoring position in each of the first three innings before breaking through in the fourth with Diaz’s two-run shot to left center; Canfield scored on the play. The home run was the 15th of Diaz’s career. The Razorbacks added two more runs in the fifth on an RBI double by Tori Cooper and RBI base hit off the bat of A.J. Belans. Saint Louis (11-11) got on the scoreboard with a solo home run to center.

Shelby Hiers pushed the lead back to four runs with a two-out single in the sixth that scored pinch runner Betina Beringhele who was on for Madison Yannetti. The junior infielder extended the frame with a double down the line in right field to set the table for Hiers. With her two hits, Canfield moved into a tie for third on the program’s career list (219) with Rachel LeMaster (2004-07). She is eight hits shy of Arkansas hits leader Jessica Bachkora (2007-10).

In the circle, Storms got the benefit of a double play in the first and faced the minimum through three innings. The Billikens had runners on second and third in the fifth inning after the solo shot but Storms got out of trouble by snagging a chopper up the middle and flipping to Diaz at first for the final out. Storms gave up two runs—one earned—on six hits and struck out three hitters in her sixth complete game.
