DiNicola Named Razorback Diving Coach

FAYETTEVILLE – Jeff DiNicola has been named diving coach of the Razorback swimming and diving team, head coach Sean Schimmel announced Wednesday.

"I am very excited to introduce Jeff DiNicola as the University of Arkansas’s diving coach," Coach Schimmel said. "It will be great working with Jeff as he brings his years of collegiate coaching experience to the Razorback pool deck. Jeff has the skills and knowledge to help our divers be better than they have ever been before and bring them back to All-American status at the NCAA Championships. I am thrilled for our student-athletes to have someone like Jeff committed to their development as student-athletes here at the University of Arkansas."

Coach DiNicola boasts six years of collegiate coaching experience from the University of Nebraska, the University of New Mexico and Southwest Missouri State.

"I am very happy to be back into college coaching, and very excited to be at such a great program like the Razorbacks," Coach DiNicola said. "The new direction Sean is taking the swim team with all the swimmers’ best times is exciting, and I expect to follow this high level with the diving team as well. The great history from past diving coaching is well known and I want to jump right in and excel that history to a new level in the SEC and NCAA."

DiNicola coached at the University of Nebraska from 2003-05. While at Nebraska, he coached multiple NCAA Zone Diving Championship divers and an NCAA qualifier in 2005.

DiNicola coached at the University of New Mexico from 2000-03, building the university’s first diving program in five years. DiNicola was named Mountain West Conference Diving Coach of the Year in 2003 and placed divers at NCAA Zone Diving Championships each of his three seasons.

In addition to running age-group diving programs at New Mexico and Nebraska, DiNicola was an assistant diving coach at Longhorn Aquatics prior to Arkansas and coached at New Mexico High School from 2006-12. While at New Mexico High School, DiNicola coached a state qualifier each year who placed top three, including two state champions.

DiNicola attended Southwest Missouri State from 1996-99, lettering each year. Named MVC Diver of the Year twice, DiNicola also earned All-MVC honors three consecutive years and set an SMS school record on the 3-meter board. He received his degree from SMS in 2000 in drafting and design with options in architectural/civil and mechanical engineering with a minor in construction.
