Distance Medley Relay Breaks Arkansas Record

NEW YORK – The University of Arkansas distance medley relay team shattered the school record with 10:57.15 to claim victory on day one at the Armory Collegiate Invitational.

The quartet of Grace Heymsfield, Chrishuna Williams, Stephanie Brown and Dominique Scott broke the previous record of 11:00.23 set by Keri McLary, Gwendolyn Flowers, Martine Borge and Heymsfield set last year at the NCAA Championships. Friday’s performance currently ranks third in the NCAA this season and ninth all-time in collegiate history.

The pole-vaulting trio of Ariel Voskamp, Megan Zimlich and Danielle Nowell recorded personal bests during the first day of the Amory Invite. Voskamp recored a mark of 13-11.25 for a second-place finish. Nowell and Zimlich’s indentical marks of 13-9.25 were good for a top-five finish.

Action will resume Saturday with the final day of competition in New York.
