FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Tom Dorre (last name pronounced DOOR-ee), the associate vice chancellor for finance at the University of Arkansas for the past 15 years, has been named UA’s associate athletic director for business affairs, Athletic Director Frank Broyles announced on Thursday.
“We are very pleased that Tom has joined us as an associate athletic director,” Broyles said. “He has been a part of the UA community for more than 35 years and his credentials speak for themselves. Tom has worked with us and has been involved with our program for more than 25 years, so it was a natural for him to be able to step into this role effectively.
“We are grateful to the University for allowing us to hire him and take advantage of his long tenure and experience with our program. We are extremely fortunate to have him join our team.”
In his new position, Dorre will oversee business operations including budgeting and accounting, ticketing, contracts, travel and purchasing.
“When Coach Broyles offered me the position, I was extremely excited,” Dorre said. “It was sort of the same feeling of when you stand up for that first Hog call of the season. I’m looking forward to being a part of the Razorback athletic department family.”
Dorre, a 1967 Arkansas graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, has been at the university in various positions since he graduated.
