Dual season closes with Drury on Friday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 18 University of Arkansas swimming and diving team will honor its seven seniors and close the dual meet season against the Drury Panthers Friday night at the Arkansas Natatorium.The Razorbacks (9-1, 3-1) will recognize seniors Stephanie Carr, Elizabeth Engs, Emily Fletcher, Summer Jackson, Madison Palmer, Macey Webb and Kellyn Williams for their contributions to the team in a short ceremony prior to the meet.

An NCAA Division II powerhouse, Drury this season has recorded wins over NCAA Division I programs University of Arkansas, Little Rock and Missouri State and the Panthers have also beaten reigning Division II champion Truman State.

Against the Razorbacks, the Panthers are 3-15 lifetime. The Razorbacks have won the last six meetings between the schools, the last win coming in 2006 when Arkansas defeated Drury 130-110. Drury has not won a dual meet with the Razorbacks since its 72-41 victory in 1998.

Led by junior Yi Ting Siow, who is undefeated in her six races with Arkansas this season, seniors Carr and Palmer and sophomore Katie Kastes, the Razorbacks will look to pick up the win over the Panthers, giving them 10 wins on the season. No other team in Arkansas program history has recorded 10 wins in a season. The 1990-91 and 1991-92 squads each recorded nine victories.
