Duo Earns ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – Arkansas senior co-captain Shannon Hudson and sophomore Ana Oparenovic each earned spots in the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Women’s National Singles Rankings, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Wednesday.

After posting the first top-10 win of her career on Saturday in the Razorbacks’ 6-1 win against Oklahoma, Hudson surged 51 spots to a career-best No. 47. The Virginia Beach, Virginia, native was also named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week earlier on Wednesday.

Oparenovic entered the rankings for the first time this spring, coming in at tied for No. 103 after earning a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles against the Sooners.

Hudson owns a 9-3 overall singles record with a 4-1 mark in dual match play this season, while Oparenovic is 7-4 overall and 1-1 in dual matches.
