Edmonds promoted to full-time position

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Tonya Edmonds has been promoted to a full-time assistant marketing and promotions position at the University of Arkansas, Associate Athletic Director Matt Shanklin announced.

Edmonds was a graduate assistant in the Razorback marketing office for two years prior to the promotion.

Tonya Edmonds joined the Razorbacks in 2006 as a graduate assistant in the marketing and promotions office. After graduating in May 2008, Edmonds joined the Razorback marketing staff in a full-time position.

A 2005 graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in sport management, Edmonds has a wide range of experience including marketing, ticketing and fundraising.

A former cross country and track and field athlete at Western Carolina, Edmonds was a member of the student athletic advisory committee and apprenticed with the university’s senior women’s administrator helping host the 2004 Volleyball Southern Conference Championship.

In addition, Edmonds completed an internship with the Asheville Lighting Junior Olympics team handling administrative duties while fundraising for the program.

Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Edmonds accepted a position as an intern serving as the ticket manager for North Carolina-Asheville, a post she held until coming to Arkansas. While at Asheville, Edmonds handled all of the day-to-day ticket office duties as well as creating ticket brochures to promote sales.

Edmond moved into her full-time position with the Razorbacks in the late summer.
