Eibner named to Weekly Honor Roll

FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas baseball player Brett Eibner has earned a spot on the CollegeBaseball360 Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll as announced Wednesday. He is one of 16 players from across the nation named to the list in recognition of clutch performances.

Last week, Eibner was 4-for-10 (.400) at the plate with three home runs, five RBI and three runs scored against No. 3 LSU. The Houston, Texas, native posted a 1.300 slugging percentage. He also drew three walks. Part of the Razorbacks’ starting rotation, Eibner also started game three of the LSU series. He tallied a season-high seven strikeouts in six innings of work, also a season-high mark.

In game one of the LSU series, Eibner belted two home runs and had a season-high four RBI. His second home run of the game was a monster shot that cleared the Alex Box Stadium scoreboard. The two-homer performance was the third of his career. In the finale, in addition to this pitching performance, he accounted for Arkansas’ lone run with a solo home run.

Eibner is one of three two-way players included on the weekly list. In his two-way role, Eibner is second on the team with five home runs and second on the team with a 2.18 ERA.

The rest of the honorees include four pitchers, three catchers, two first basemen, two outfielders and a designated hitter. The selections feature a 5th-year season, three seniors, seven juniors, four sophomores and a freshman. Including Eibner, the Southeastern Conference has five selections on the 16-player list.

The Razorbacks close out a five-game road trip Wednesday at McNeese State. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. at Cowboy Diamond in Lake Charles, La. Following the midweek set, Arkansas returns to Fayetteville for nine consecutive games, beginning with this weekend’s SEC matchup with Alabama at Baum Stadium.
