Ernest Mitchell undergoes arthroscopic knee surgery

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas senior defensivelineman Ernest Mitchell underwent an arthroscopic knee procedure on his left knee on Wednesday afternoon, it was announced by Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino.

Mitchell injured the knee in last weekend’s game at No. 7 Texas. Mitchell will begin rehabilitation of the knee immediately. The timetable for his recovery and return to the field is undetermined at this point.

“Ernest underwent a knee scope today for an injury he suffered in the Texas game,” Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino said. “At this time, it is uncertain how long he will be sidelined. We are still hopeful that he could return at some point this season. I know that Ernest will work hard to rehabilitate his injury with our training staff in an effort to get back on the field with his teammates.”
