Estes-Taylor Adds Transfer

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas women’s golf coach Shauna Estes-Taylor announced the addition of Big 12 individual champion Dylan Kim to the 2017-18 Razorback roster on Friday. Kim transfers to Arkansas after three seasons at Baylor University and comes to Fayetteville as a junior with two years of eligibility remaining.

Kim is in the midst of a solid summer of golf having qualified for the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open. She carded a two-round 137 winning the Fort Worth, Texas, qualifier at Diamond Oaks Country Club in late May. Kim was two strokes better than the runner-up and was 3-under for two rounds. She travels to Bedminster, New Jersey, for the U.S. Women’s Open July 13-16.

In addition, Kim advanced to the finals of the Women’s Western Amateur Championship. She shot 72–71—143 and was the runner-up in stroke play. She advanced through match play before falling in the championship match.

Kim played for the Bears in 2014-15, redshirted the following year after competing in just one event and emerged as one of the team’s leaders in 2016-17. She played in all 13 events and helped Baylor to the NCAA Championship Quarterfinals at Rich Harvest Farms.

The Plano, Texas, native counted 33 of her 35 rounds toward the team scores and finished the season with a 73.46 stroke average as a redshirt sophomore. Kim had four top-10 finishes including medalist honors at the 2017 Big 12 Championship with a 2-under 214. It was the All-American’s first medalist honor and seventh career top-10 finish in 21 tournaments.

Kim earned All-American, All-Big 12 and Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors following her 2014-15 freshman season. She competed in just one event the following year before redshirting after having a benign tumor removed from her leg. Kim is a two-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team selection and has several academic honor roll selections at her previous school.
