Ann Arbor, Mich. – Nathan Price played the last match of the fall season for the Arkansas Razorback tennis team Sunday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Indoor Championship.
“Nathan and the entire Arkansas team had a good fall season,” head coach Robert Cox said. “I am pleased with all of their efforts, and we all look forward to a good spring season.”
Price played Jesse Witten of Kentucky, No. 9 in the nation, in the finals of consolation. Price competed well with Witten, but the Kentucky player would prove to strong for Price as Witten won, 6-1, 6-1.
“Nathan had a chance to get a few more games against Witten,” Robert Cox said. “I think he played a good match, but Witten played one of the best matches I have seen any college player play in a while.”
For the fall, Price’s record improves to (16-6) with his performance at the ITA Indoor Championship. Teammate, Adrians Zguns posted a record for the fall of (17-4) after play this weekend.
The Arkansas tennis team will be off until the spring when it participates in the SEC Indoors starting on Jan. 15, 2004.
