FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After signing two nationally-ranked in-state prospects on Wednesday, Arkansas basketball coach Stan Heath went outside the state on Thursday and added two more nationally-ranked players in guard Olu Famutimi and center Julius Lamptey.
Famutimi (Fah-moo-tee-me) is a 6-5, 210-pound guard and Lamptey is a 7-0, 270-pound center. They join Wednesday’s signees, Ronnie Brewer of Fayetteville, a 6-6, 190-pound guard, and Vincent Hunter of Little Rock, a 6-9, 195-pound forward, to complete this year’s recruiting class.
“Our class is now solidified,” Heath said. “We feel like this class has the chance to be very special. Olu is a scoring machine. He’s very gifted athletically and he’s very dangerous in the open floor. Julius is a true low-post player. At 7-0, 270 pounds, he’s a man-child.
“I’ve been a part of top five recruiting classes before and in my mind, this one is as good as any of those. We addressed all of our major needs.”
