Fans asked to be cautious around Bud Walton Arena

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –-Due to the severity of this week’s ice storm in Northwest Arkansas, fans attending tonight’s Arkansas-Alabama basketball game are asked to be cautious while driving to and from Bud Walton Arena, and while walking into and out of the facility.

The Razorbacks and Alabama tip off at 8:05 p.m.

Fans should allow for additional time to reach parking areas and for extra time to walk to the arena. In some areas, roads around the arena may be blocked or limited to one lane of traffic.

UAPD is advising fans to take Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (formerly Sixth Street) to Razorback Road before the game. Following the game, traffic will be diverted away from Maple north of Razorback Road due to the driving conditions on Cleveland and Sang.

Some sidewalks and other walking areas may be blocked off due to fallen debris. Caution should also be exercised in case of unseen patches of ice. Foot traffic will not be permitted through The Gardens due to the condition of the sidewalks.

Alternate routes may be necessary for fans driving and walking.

The only parking lots reserved tonight are lots 60, 62, 55, 67, AD, 56B, 56C and 56D. All other lots are open. The ADA shuttle will be running as usual, but with The Garden sidewalks unavailable, additional shuttles for the public will transport fans from and to Lot 56 near the soccer stadium.

At this time, all entrances to the arena are expected to be open, but conditions may dictate changes closer to game time.

Tickets are still available for the game. The Bud Walton Arena ticket office, located on the south side of the arena, opens at 6 p.m.
