FAYETTEVILLE – The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce in coordination with the University of Arkansas Athletic Department is hosting the second annual "Rockin’ with the Razorbacks" Pep Rally on Friday, Oct. 22, at the Northwest Arkansas Mall.

The Rockin’ with the Razorbacks celebration will take place at Center Court of the Northwest Arkansas Mall beginning at 5 p.m. and include an opening ceremony with prominent Razorback personalities and spirit squad members as well as autographs with some of Arkansas’ 19 competitive teams. The free event also includes concessions while available.

"We are proud to partner with the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce for another ‘Rockin’ with the Razorbacks’ event," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "The Friday night pep rally will be a great way for our fans to kick off a full weekend of Razorback activities including our basketball red-white scrimmages later that night and our football game against Ole Miss at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday. We appreciate the support of all of our local community partners who continue to help make each Razorback weekend in Northwest Arkansas something special."

The 2010 Rockin’ with the Razorbacks event is being held in conjunction with the Arkansas men’s and women’s basketball teams’ annual red-white scrimmages, also on Oct. 22 at Bud Walton Arena and with the Razorback football team’s game with Ole Miss set for Saturday, Oct. 23 at 11:21 a.m.

"Our ‘Rockin’ with the Razorbacks’ pep rally in Up Town Fayetteville is going to be one of the largest Razorback events held in Fayetteville every year," CEO and President of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce Steve Clark said. "I believe this pep rally will become a ‘must do’ experience for all Razorback fans. We hope this event contributes to the excitement of a Razorback football game and brings fans to Northwest Arkansas for yet another exciting event."

Arkansas coaches and student-athletes as well as Miss University of Arkansas Kimberly Smith will be on hand to sign autographs between 6-7 p.m. Concessions, music, face painting and door prizes are also on the schedule.
