Felton to serve as honorary captain

FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas All-American Robert Felton will serve as the A Club honorary captain for the Arkansas-Jacksonville State football game on Sept. 1, it was announced on Wednesday. Felton was a four-year letterwinner for the Razorbacks on the offensive line. A native of Houston, Texas, Felton started 42 games in his collegiate career. His best season in an Arkansas uniform came in 2007 when he was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press, Rivals and Phil Steele College Football. He also garnered first-team All-SEC accolades during the 2007 season. Felton was part of an Arkansas offense that led the SEC and ranked fourth in the nation in rushing (286.5), ranked 17th in total offense (450.0) and 13th in scoring (37.3). Felton and the Razorback offensive line blocked for eventual Doak Walker Award winner, Darren McFadden. Felton went on to be named to the Arkansas All-Decade team for the years 2000-09. Felton helped Arkansas to bowl games in both the 2006 and 2007 seasons. In 2006, Felton was a part of a team that went 7-1 in the SEC and won the SEC’s Western Division, earning a spot in the conference championship game. Following his career at the UA, Felton signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2008 as an undrafted free agent. He went on to play for the Bills and the Oakland Raiders in his professional career. The A Club honorary captain is recognized before each home game for their outstanding accomplishments on the field during their Razorback career. Each captain will be available for a brief autograph session at the AT&T Fan Zone at The Gardens prior to each game. Before kickoff, they will be recognized and will accompany the captains to midfield for the coin toss. Tickets for four Fayetteville games are still on sale. Tickets for the non-conference games against Jacksonville State, Rutgers and Tulsa are $45, while tickets for the conference matchup against Kentucky are $55. Single-game tickets may be purchased online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com, in person the Razorback Ticket Center or by phone at 800-982-HOGS. Fans ordering tickets online have the option to print the tickets from home utilizing UA’s new eTicket system. Little Rock season ticket packages, featuring games against ULM on Sept. 8 and Ole Miss on Oct. 27, are still available for $120. The Razorbacks and Rebels are set to square off inside War Memorial Stadium for the 16th time in series history, including the first meeting and 1913, and the first time since 1992. Tickets purchased for Little Rock contests are not available with a print-at-home option. To show your support for the Razorback football postseason awards campaign follow @ARKTD2012 on Twitter.
