Final Fall Event This Week

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The ninth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team returns to the links for the final event of the fall at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on Oct. 23-25.

The event, formerly known as the Alamo Invitational, is in its eighth year and Arkansas is participating for the fourth consecutive season. The 14-team field plays 54 holes – 18 each day – at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club, a par-72, 6,450-yard course in San Antonio, Texas.

In the Razorbacks’ first three appearances, the team has a third-place showing and back-to-back runner-up finishes. Three of this year’s traveling five were at last year’s event and will have good course knowledge at Briggs Ranch.

Samantha Marks finished 18th last year followed by a 23rd-place finish by Alana Uriell. Cara Gorlei added a 59th place showing and all three of those players return this week.

Newcomer Kaylee Benton and sophomore Maria Fassi are making their first appearance at the tournament.
