The University of Arkansas men’s basketball team plays its final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday night when it hosts Florida A&M at Bud Walton Arena at 7 p.m.
On the halftime schedule for Wednesday night’s contest is a step performance by one of the University of Arkansas fraternities.
Arkansas (15-9, 5-6 SEC) picked up a key 15th win on Saturday afternoon against LSU and played with incredible energy to get the victory. The Razorbacks were led by junior Rotnei Clarke who buried 25 points in the victory and was aided by sophomore Marshawn Powell who completed the inside-outside game with 14 points. Senior Delvon Johnson was once again hovering around the double-double area with nine points and eight rebounds.
The Razorbacks are 10-3 in non-conference games this season and a perfect 9-0 at Bud Walton Arena in those match ups. The Razorbacks are outscoring their opponents by an average of more than 19 points in non-conference games on their home court and are forcing their opponents to more than 19 turnovers per game. Arkansas’ shooting has also been spot on during the stretch as the Hogs have hit more than 46 percent from the floor and 38 percent from three.
Florida A&M (10-14, 5-6 MEAC) enters the game with a tough stretch of contests behind it as the Rattlers will have played two games in three days with the Wednesday night matchup being its third in five. The Rattlers are winners of three straight heading into a showdown with Delaware State on Monday night. The Rattlers are led by Amin Stevens who is averaging 14.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game as the Florida A&M leader in both categories. Florida A&M is 6-6 across the front line with a pari of shorter guards including Avery Moore who averages better than nine points per contest.
The Arkansas-Florida A&M game will be broadcast on the radio across the Razorback Sports Network from IMG College with Chuck Barrett and Rick Schaeffer giving the call. The game will also be carried live on the internet on ArkansasRazorbacks.com through the RazorVision portal.
Following the contest with Florida A&M, Arkansas goes back on the road against SEC Western Division leader, Alabama, on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m.
