First the wind now the rain

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Wednesday’s 50 mile-per-hour winds and warm temps gave way to 50 degrees and rain Thursday as players attempt to finish second round action at the 2008 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship in Albuquerque, N.M. The 10th-ranked University of Arkansas golfers played about five holes in the second round Wednesday before dangerous winds suspended then halted play. Teams returned to the University of New Mexico Golf Course Thursday for the completion of the round this morning at 8:00 a.m. The horn sounded signaling the start of play just as a light rain began to fall. Temperatures, cool to begin with, dropped as the rain intensity picked up through the first hole of play. Although thunder could be heard, there is no lightening in the area and play will continue. Fans should be able to watch live play today from holes 10, 17 and 18 on NCAA.com and Golfstat.com, weather permitting.
