Five Lady'Backs tee it up Monday

FAYETTEVILLE – Five University of Arkansas golfers take to the links Monday for the 103th North-South Women’s Amateur in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C. Seniors-to-be Amanda McCurdy, Courtney Mahon, Lindsey Hinshaw and Sarah Trew along with sophomore-to-be Stacy Lewis all take to the links Monday and Tuesday for a pair of qualifying rounds of stroke play. The top 64 women in the field make the cut and move on to six rounds of elimination match play to determine the champion. The invitation-only event is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country for female amateurs and this is the first year Arkansas has had an entry. Hinshaw, a Missouri City, Texas, native, tees off first for Arkansas at 6:57 Central from the first hole on Monday. She plays her second round at 11:27 a.m., from the 10th hole on Tuesday. McCurdy begins her day at 7:06 a.m., from Number 10 on Monday and at 11:36 a.m., from hole Number 1 on Tuesday. Mahon tees off at 7:15 a.m., Monday and 11:45 on Tuesday, while Trew and Lewis are paired together and tee off at 7:51 a.m., Monday from the 10th hole.
