FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team wrapped up another day of competition at the SEC Fall Classic hosted by Vanderbilt on Friday.
Five Razorbacks advanced to the third round in the Consolation Singles bracket, highlighted by a trio of straight-set wins. Both seniors notched victories, with Mike Nott battling back to defeat Saxon Buehning of Alabama 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 and Hall Fess beating Vanderbilt’s Mason Viera 6-3, 6-1. Junior Jovan Parlic defeated Eric Perez of LSU 6-1, 6-3, redshirt freshman Jacob Herndon beat Pen Binet of Vanderbilt, 7-6(5), 4-3 (ret.) and true freshman Johan den Toom rounded out the Razorback victories retiring LSU’s Harrison Kennedy 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.
Both Razorback doubles teams fell in the Round of 16 on Friday.
Consolation singles play is scheduled to resume Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. but could change due to incliment weather.
