FORE Golf Tournament a success

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas women’s golf coach Kelley Hester deemed Monday’s FORE Lady Razorback Golf Tournament a success. The annual fund-raiser took place at Springdale Country Club and 32 teams took part this year. “It was another great event,” said Hester. “So many people stepped up to help out the Lady Razorback golf program. The Bank of Fayetteville, Heinz, Signature Bank, the Springdale Country Club and of course our team and the staff of the Women’s Athletics Department were all key in the success of this event. (Associate Athletic Director) Chris Pohl and (Director of Development) Wayne Stehlik were a couple of key individuals who really help to make this a top-notch event. We couldn’t do it without them.” First Security Bank won the men’s division shooting a 56. That team included John James, Jim Tayler, John Rutledge and Dean Morris. Max Wright – E-Com Tour, W. C. Financial and Haynes LTD all tied for second with a 57. The Morning News, Arvest and PB & Associates all checked in with a 60 while the Pinnacle team counted a 61. On the women’s side, Martha’s Team, with members Martha McAlister, Debbie Nye, Doris Herren and Brenda Alexander, won with a 57. Swim Ways took second with a 61, followed by Signature Bank #2 and Bella Vista Ladies rounding out the top four teams.
