FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas tennis program hosted former Razorbacks for Alumni Weekend with events including a feature match between former players and current Hogs.
Activities included a reception Friday night, matches between the former players Saturday morning, the feature match during lunch and matches between former players and the current Razorbacks in the afternoon.
The feature match paired former All-American Pat Serret (1981-84) and Simon Robinson (1984-87) against UA’s No. 1 doubles team of Oggie Kolev and Aleksey Bubis.
Kolev and Bubis won the only full set, 6-4, and then won a tiebreaker, 7-4.
In addition to Serret and Robinson, other former Razorbacks participating included Greg Aclin, Bobby Banck, David Beauchamp, Chris Campbell, current head coach Robert Cox, Mark Dutton, Jef Falling, Greg Fess, Peter Hawking, Joe Hickey, Oskar Johansson, Mark Johnson, Matt Jones, Eric Kwait, Jose Lambert, Jack Lankford, John McConnell, Euan McGinn, Pat Mehaffy, Darin Phelan, Richard Schmidt, Scott Shankles and Tim Siegel.
The Razorbacks open the 2002 season Sunday with a 1 p.m. exhibition match against Sterling University of Scotland at the UA Indoor Tennis Center.
