FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Former Razorback baseball player Logan Forsythe has been named the No. 5 prospect in the San Diego Padres farm system by Baseball America. The publication also named him the prospect with the best strike-zone discipline. Forsythe was the 46th overall pick by the San Diego Padres in the 2008 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
“It doesn’t surprise me one bit that Logan has been recognized as a top prospect for the Padres,” Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn said. “He is an outstanding defender that plays the game extremely hard every day. In that respect, he’s a bit of a throw-back player because of his work ethic. I’ve told Logan that any manager is going to love him because of how hard he works, and in just a short period of time, that hard work is showing through.”
