Foundation expands efforts

FAYETTEVILLE — The Razorback Foundation, Inc., will soon expand its fund raising efforts to all Annual Funds supporting the Razorbacks’ 19 sports it was announced on Monday.

In an effort to centralize the annual fund raising efforts for all 19 men’s and women’s sports, Athletic Director Jeff Long, requested that the Razorback Foundation Board approve the incorporation of Women’s Athletic Annual Fund efforts in the Razorback Foundation beginning July 1, 2010. Previously, the Razorback Foundation’s mission was to solely support men’s programs, while the Women’s Athletic Department was responsible for fundraising efforts for women’s programs through the Lady Razorback Foundation.

"With the addition of the Women’s Athletic Fund, the Razorback Foundation will now coordinate the annual fund raising efforts in support of all 19 of our sports and our more than 460 student-athletes," Long said. "We appreciate the leadership of the Razorback Foundation Board in helping us centralize the annual support for the benefit of our entire athletic program."

The Razorback Foundation organizes and implements annual fund drives on behalf of the Razorback Athletic Department. This includes the priority seating programs for Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, Bud Walton Arena, Baum Stadium and now the Women’s Athletic Fund. Major gift fund raising for capital projects remains a function of the athletic department coordinated by its development staff and the Director of Athletics.
