Franklin heads to NCAA Last Chance Invite

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — This weekend, the No. 20 Arkansas swimming and diving team will send freshman Chelsea Franklin to Knoxville, Tenn., for the NCAA Last Chance Invite.

Franklin, who will be competing in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the meet, is looking to improve her NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 16:22.95, which she swam at the Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships last week in Athens, Ga.

Roughly, the country’s top 30 swimmers in each event qualify for the NCAA Championships, which will be held in West Lafayette, Ind., March 17-20. Franklin currently ranks in the top 40.

The Last Chance Invite, running all day on Friday, Feb. 26 at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center, is the second to last meet for the Razorbacks before NCAA postseason meets begin March 12-14 with the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
