Freshmen Set to Experience Conference Meet

FAYETTEVILLE-The University of Arkansas diving team begins Southeastern Conference Championship competition Friday at 11 a.m. in Gainesville, Fla.

Head Diving Coach Scott Reich said he expects a solid performance from his young squad in their first conference championship meet.

“This year we are focusing on specific events due to our specific strengths to use to our advantage,” Reich said. “An awesome meet for us would be for Brieanne (Kushner) to finish in the top eight on both boards with Hilarie (Wilson) and Jamie (Hyslop) in the top eight or scoring on the platform.”

Reich said last weekend’s meet in Orlando gave the young Lady Razorbacks confidence preparing for the SECs.

“Brieanne gained a lot of confidence after qualifying for the semifinals in Orlando and hopefully she goes out there and is a contributor for us,” Reich said.

Kushner is the only Lady’Back that has qualified for NCAA Zone Diving, as she will compete in the three-meter springboard.
