Wooo Pig Sooie!

It is that time of year when Razorback student-athletes trade in their Hog Hat for a Cap and Gown! Combined with our program’s fall graduates, nearly 125 Razorback student-athletes will add their names to Senior Walk as part of the University of Arkansas’ Class of 2018. I had an opportunity last week to celebrate our Spring Semester graduates in a special ceremony at the Jerry and Gene Jones Family Student-Athlete Success Center. It was only fitting to recognize their extraordinary accomplishments in a building that has helped foster their academic and athletic success along with their personal development.
Grad Reception

Congratulations to our student-athletes who will be wearing a Razorback graduation stole as they walk across that commencement stage this week. It is a defining moment in your lives and solidifies that you are a Razorback and Champion for Life.

Spring Graduates

SEC Champion Women’s Golf
Congratulations to Coach Shauna Taylor and our women’s golf program on winning the program’s first ever SEC Championship, in a very compelling match play championship vs. South Carolina.

Coach Taylor

As the championship concluded for the first time ever on the SEC Network, the nation watched as Coach Shauna Taylor fell to her knees and emotionally embraced her student-athletes on that 18th green. This is an image, I will never forget and one that truly defines the love a coach has for their student-athletes and the investment and sacrifices they have made together to win a championship. Coach Taylor, the SEC Coach of the Year, became the first to win the SEC women’s golf championship as a student-athlete (at Georgia) and then as a coach.

Nationally-Ranked Razorbacks
What a spring it has already been for Razorback Athletics! With an SEC Championship already in hand and numerous other opportunities at SEC and NCAA Championships, our student-athletes and coaches have put us in position to bring home even more hardware. Arkansas is a mainstay in Top 25 polls of numerous NCAA spring sports. This week, the Razorbacks are included in the nation’s best listing in six spring sports. Share the good news and this graphic on social media to let everyone know what is happening in Fayetteville!

Time to Pick Your Seats
Seat selection for the 2018 football season is underway! We are off to a great start. Through the first three days of the RazorbackSeats3D process, 1,900 of the 2,220 North End Zone Club seats have been selected as we quickly approach capacity in our new North End Zone premium spaces that also include luxury suites and loge boxes. The RazorbackSeats3D selection will continue through May 22.

There is plenty of excitement about the new seating opportunities in the north end zone. This past Saturday, more than 800 people registered for a special event on the field of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium to preview the North End Zone. There are still some North End Zone opportunities available, but they are going fast. If you are interested, please contact a member of the Razorback Ticket Sales Team at premium@uark.edu or by calling 479-435-2513 for more information.

This is another big week for Razorback Athletics. Our women’s golf team is already competing as the No. 1 seed at the NCAA Women’s Golf Regional (May 7-9) in Austin, Texas while our men’s golf team will compete as the No. 3 seed at the NCAA Men’s Golf Regional (May 14-16) in Norman, Okla.

On Wednesday, our softball team opens play in the SEC Softball Tournament (May 9-12) in Columbia, Mo. Our men’s and women’s track and field teams begin competition at the SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships (May 11-13). On graduation weekend, our baseball team will close out its regular season home schedule (May 11-13) at Baum Stadium against Texas A&M.

This week represents all that we are about. From graduation to competing for championships, it all comes full circle for our program. Thank you for helping us meet our mission of developing Razorbacks/Champions for Life!

Go Hogs!
