Fulop Gregory and Kushner pace Lady'Backs at Nebraska

LINCOLN, NEB. – Mariann Fulop, Emily Gregory and Brieanne Kushner took two wins apiece as the University of Arkansas continued its season at the University of Nebraska Saturday. Despite a 132-168 loss, the Lady Razorbacks won eight events and turned in four career-best times. “We competed well versus a very good Nebraska team today, said head coach Jeff Poppell. “We continue to build and improve with each meet and I’m very proud of our team and the way that the ladies performed.” Fulop swept the backstroke events, posting a career-best 57.82 in the 100 and 2:05.24 in the 200. Gregory’s victories came in the 50 free with a 24.29 and the 100 fly with a 56.49. Senior Kristen Thibodeaux turned in a career-best 2:07.79 in her victory in the 200 fly. Arkansas earned its first relay win of the year in the 200-medley relay. On the boards, Kushner won both diving events with a personal-best 281.33 in the one meter and a 288.75 in the three meter. Arkansas went 1-2 on the one meter with the help of sophomore Madison Palmer who scored a 266.10. Arkansas also went 1-2 in the 100 fly. Gregory picked up the win and Thibodeaux took second with a time of 58.35. The Lady’Backs return to Fayetteville this weekend for their home opener against LSU at 10 a.m. All home meets are held in the Arkansas Natatorium and admission is free to the public.
