Future Razorback reaches milestone

FAYETTEVILLE – Future University of Arkansas women’s basketball player Joey Bailey scored her 2,000th-career high school point this week in Gunter, Texas.

Bailey finished the game with 25 points, eight assists and six rebounds and has now scored 2,023 career points. She paced Class 2A No. 10 Gunter to a 69-21 win over Pottsboro in the District 11-2A opener.

Bailey singed with the Razorbacks in November. She is currently ranked No. 15 by Joey Simmons’ Premier Basketball Report. The 6-3 forward was called "A solid all-around player. She has long range to play a wing and is physical enough to play a post. Good rebounder who boxes out well. A clutch free throw shooter. Can hit the 3 shot. Wants the ball in crucial situations."

In addition, the Carolina Scouting Report lists Bailey as their No. 6 prospect for the class of 2011.

Arkansas returns to the court Sunday hosting No. 12 Oklahoma at 5 p.m.
