FAYETTEVILLE – Senior post player Kristin Moore and senior guard Adrienne Bush are suspended from playing for the University of Arkansas women’s basketball team for the preseason and first games of the regular season, Lady Razorback head coach Susie Gardner announced Monday. Moore received a five-game suspension from playing in games for violation of University regulations, while Bush received a four-game suspension from play for violation of team and Women’s Athletic Department rules. “These are things that happened in the spring and summer, and they are unrelated,” Gardner said. Neither player will dress out for the three exhibition games, starting with Thursday’s Red-White Game. Arkansas also has exhibition games on Sunday, Nov. 6, against Cameron and Friday, Nov. 11, against Missouri Southern. “It is my job to think of what is best for the team, and for each player as individuals,” Gardner said. “I hope that both of them have learned life lessons from these events. They have apologized to the team, and I believe they have learned from this. We are moving on as a team.” Along with the preseason games, Moore will not participate in the season opener at Southern Methodist or the home opener against Memphis. Bush will not play at SMU. They are allowed to participate in team practices. Both players were starters during last year’s 17-14 team. Moore’s season ended midway through last year, and the 6-0 senior is returning to the lineup after knee surgery. Bush averaged 4 ppg and 2.6 rpg last year, playing in 28 games and starting 19.
