George Wilson Named to SEC Good Works Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas junior split end George Wilson will be featured this week as the Southeastern Conference Good Works Team Player of the Week. Wilson will be recognized on Saturday’s Jefferson-Pilot Sports telecast of the Arkansas vs. Auburn game.
The Paducah, Ky., native is part of Arkansas’ SAM Program (Student-Athlete Mentors) and APPLE Committee (Athlete Prevention Programming Leadership and Education). He is also involved in the Razorback Reading Program, where student-athletes read to elementary school children.
Wilson has also been a speaker at high school assemblies promoting teamwork and good sportsmanship. He has also spoken to children at local elementary schools.
A finance and real estate major, Wilson is a member of the Lon Farrell Academic Honor Roll, recognizing student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Wilson has excelled on the field this season as well. He currently ranks second on the squad with 10 catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s Olympic Sports. JP Sports highlights one member of the football SEC Good Works Team during each of its weekly football telecasts.
