Gus Malzahn Honored as Rivals.com National Coordinator of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the second time this season, Arkansas offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn has been honored as the national coordinator of the week by Rivals.com. Arkansas racked up 425 total offensive yards including 259 on the ground in a victory over No. 13 Tennessee.

Sophomore Darren McFadden rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns and threw for another. Junior Marcus Monk hauled in eight catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns against the Volunteers.

“Gus deserves a lot of credit for the way our offensive unit has performed in big games,” Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt said. “He has worked with the rest of the offensive staff to come up with innovative ways to get the ball to our playmakers. I’m proud that people are recognizing the outstanding job Gus is doing.”

Malzahn captured the same award earlier this season after Arkansas’ upset of No. 2 Auburn. In the win over the Tigers, the Razorbacks’ offense tallied 366 total offensive yards including 279 on the ground.
