FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas gymnastics team will start its 2014 campaign as the No. 11 team in the nation in the Gyminfo pre-season coaches poll released on Thursday. The Razorbacks are coming off a 10th place finish nationally after competing in the NCAA Championships for the sixth straight season and seventh overall in program history. The Razorbacks will return NCAA floor event finalist Katherine Grable alongside fellow seniors Shelby Salmon, Scarlett Williams and All-American Bailee Zumwalde to lead the Razorbacks this season. Arkansas also returns All-American Stephani Canizaro, All-SEC team members Sydnie Dillard and Keara Glover and sophomores Heather Elswick and Erin Freier. The Razorbacks will welcome newcomers in Cailee Ellsworth, a junior transfer from Texas Women’s University, and Freshmen Emily Bates, Samantha Nelson, Paris Ryder and Amanda Wellick to the 2014 squad. Arkansas begins the season on Fri. Jan., 10, in Barnhill Arena when the Razorbacks will host Western Michigan and Bridgeport.
