FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas women’s basketball coach Tom Collen announced the addition of Simeon Hinsey as the director of external operations and student-athlete development for the Razorbacks this fall. “We are very pleased to add Simeon to our staff,” Collen said. “His experience in several areas makes him a perfect fit. He has spent a couple of years with the department as a graduate assistant in our student-athlete development area while working on his Ph.D. in administration so he is very familiar with our current players. His experience in the sports information department at John Brown will provide our staff with a wealth of knowledge in the social media area. The recruiting game has changed drastically in the past few years and Simeon’s experience with all the latest forms of communication should really help our staff in that area. Simeon’s experience as a collegiate player will be a great addition as well. He understands what it takes to be a great player and will be a great mentor on and off the court for our young team.” In this position, Hinsey will mentor student-athletes, serve as the liaison with compliance and academics, coordinate the team’s community service efforts, manage internal social media including the program’s recruiting website, oversee the leadership and life skills program, assist with on campus recruiting and scheduling. Prior to assuming the role with Razorback women’s basketball, Hinsey worked with the Office of Student-Athlete Success while pursuing his doctorate degree in recreation and sport management.
