Hog Golfers Finish 7th at Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas The Arkansas men’s golf team fired a 2-under-par round of 286 in the final round of the Border Olympics to finish seventh at the 7,241-yard Laredo Country Club on Saturday afternoon.

The Razorbacks finished with a three-over-par total of 867 for the 54-hole event. Lamar won the event with a 29-under-par score of 835 with Baylor second at 10-under-par 854.

Andrew Landry finished tied for 12th at 2-under-par 214 with a 1-under round of 71 on Saturday. Lamar’s Justin Harding won the event with a 10-under-par 206. Landry opened with a 73 in the first round and then shot a 70 in round two.

Redshirt freshman Dalton Owens turned in his best effort as a Razorback, finishing tied for 21st place with an even-par 216 over 54 holes. He shot a 1-over-par 73 in the final round after opening with a 74 in round one and a 69 in Friday’s second 18.

Stephen Cox and Frederico Colombo both finished tied for 32nd place at 4-over-par 220. Cox opened with a 76, but shot a 71 in round two and a 73 on Saturday. Colombo carded a 76 in round one, but fired even-par rounds of 72 over the final 36 holes.

Jason Cuthbertson shot his best round of the tournament on Saturday with a 2-under-par 70. He finished tied for 51st at 7-over-par 223.

Arkansas returns to the course on March 25-27 at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in Awendaw, S.C.
