Hog Golfers Seventh at CordeValle Collegiate

SAN MARTIN, Calif. – The Arkansas golf team managed to complete all 36 holes scheduled for the first day of the CordeValle Collegiate, but 11 of the 17 teams remained on the course when the second round was suspended due to darkness.

The Razorbacks are in seventh place at 5-under-par 571 and one of six teams to complete both rounds on Monday. Stanford currently leads at 22-under par, but the Cardinals still have two players that will have to finish their second on Tuesday morning.

Lamar is in second place with three golfers slated to complete their second rounds on Tuesday morning. Host UCLA, who is ranked second by Golfstat, is currently eight shots behind the Hogs in 13th place.

Freshman Andrew Hopkins and sophomore Andrew Landry lead the Hogs’ attack after 36 holes with a 2-under-par score of 142. Hopkins and Landry are tied for 16th place heading into Tuesday’s final round.

Hopkins fired an opening-round 69 and then put together a second round 73. Landry opened with an even-par 72 before shooting a 2-under-par 70 in round two.

Junior Scotty Campbell is tied for 33rd after carding an even-par 70 in the first round and a 74 on the second 18 holes. Sophomore Jason Turner equaled Campbell’s two-round score of 144 with a 74 in the opening round and a 2-under-par 70 in the second round.

Beau Glover was the Razorbacks’ fifth man on Monday with rounds of 76 and 73 for a 5-over-par 149. He is in a tie for 70th position.

The teams that were unable to complete their second round will tee off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT with the third and final round to follow.
