Colorado Invitational Draws (PDF)

BOULDER, Colo. – Fresh off the program’s 14th NCAA Team Championship bid last spring, Arkansas women’s tennis begins its fall slate Friday.

It will be a dual-event weekend for the Razorbacks as two players are set to compete at the Colorado Invitational in Boulder, Colorado, while five players participate in the Little Rock Classic in Little Rock, Arkansas. Both tournaments are slated to begin Friday and will run through Sunday.

“It’s always exciting to kick off the fall individual season,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “At both events, our goal is simple – make tangible progress from the first minute of competition to the last.”

The Colorado Invitational will feature the debut of highly touted Razorback freshman Natsuho Arakawa as well as the return of sophomore Shwetha Prabakar, who suffered a season-ending knee injury at the SMU Classic on October 2015. The field includes players from Colorado, Colorado State, Georgetown and New Mexico. First serve is set for 10 a.m. CDT. All matches will be played at CU’s South Campus Tennis Complex.

Senior co-captain Sasha Shkorupeieva, 60th-ranked sophomore Ana Oparenovic, juniors Mia Jurasic and Peyton Jennings as well as sophomore Myrna Olaya will represent Arkansas at the Little Rock Classic, competing against players from Kansas, West Virginia and TCU. Play begins at 9 a.m. CDT at the Little Rock Country Club.
