Hogs’ Final Weekend Begins With No. 24 Kentucky

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team will wrap up the final weekend of the regular season beginning Friday night when the Razorbacks host the No. 24 Kentucky Wildcats at 6 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center.

After dropping its last two SEC matches on the road against No. 7 Texas A&M and Ole Miss, Arkansas (13-11, 4-6 SEC) is trying to get back to its winning ways, closing out the regular season with two home matches.

Holding a 49-16 singles career record as a Razorback, the No. 11 singles player in the country, Mike Redlicki, is looking for his 50th career singles win on Friday.

Jose Salazar is ranked 29th in the country, while the duo of he and Redlicki is ranked No. 7 in doubles play, holding a 9-4 record at the No. 1 spot and a 5-3 mark against SEC foes.

Having won four straight decisions in singles play, Johan den Toom is tied with Salazar for the best singles record against SEC opponents on the team at 7-2. Salazar is a team-best 16-4 overall this spring, 12-3 at No. 2, while den Toom is 15-5 overall, including a 12-2 mark at the No. 5 spot.

The Wildcats have two ranked singles players on their roster with William Bushamuka and Ryotaro Matsumura ranked No. 19 and 49, respectively. The doubles pairing of Beck Pennington and Enzo Wallart is ranked 32nd.

The Razorbacks will close out the weekend and the 2017 regular season on Sunday when Arkansas hosts the Vanderbilt Commodores at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
