Hogs Head to South Carolina in First Road Meet

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The No. 23 Arkansas swimming and diving team will head to South Carolina for its first road meet of the season, hosted by the Gamecocks.

The Hogs opened their slate against No. 7 Georgia, with the Bulldogs earning a 170.5-129.5 victory in the HPER Natatorium. The Razorbacks had a solid meet despite the loss, winning seven of the 16 events.

Sophomore Brooke Schultz swept both of the diving events, earning her SEC Diver of the Week honors for the first time this season. Junior Anna Hopkin also had an impressive performance, winning two individual events and one team event as well as setting a pool record in the 50 freestyle (22.29).

Senior Sydney Angell won three of the four events she competed in, earning top times in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.05), the 200 breaststroke (2:16.45), and a team event. Angell, Hopkin, Molly Moore, and Kobie Melton had the top time in the 200 medley relay (1:41.18), with Moore, Hopkin, and Melton earning their first win as Razorbacks.

South Carolina opened its season with a 197-101 loss to No. 11 North Carolina State. This will be the 15th meeting between the two teams, with the Gamecocks holding a 10-4 advantage. Arkansas has dropped the last two meetings, falling 155-145 last season at a tri-meet hosted by Missouri.

The first event in Columbia, S.C. is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT).
