Hogs in 12th Place at Valspar Collegiate

Round 2 Results

PALM CITY, Fla. – The No. 23 Arkansas men’s golf team continued play on Monday at the Valspar Collegiate, recording a 7-over 291 to sit in 12th place following the second round at Floridian National Golf Club.

The Razorbacks shaved 12 shots off their opening round score, posting 18 birdies as a team for a two-day total of 303-291 – 594 (+26). Arkansas is two shots ahead of South Florida (+28) and two strokes behind Minnesota. No. 10 Wake Forest leads the field at 3-over for the tournament.

Sophomore Charles Kim leads the team following his second straight 2-over 73 to sit T-19th overall at 4-over. He recorded three birdies on the back nine and one more on the front to side to pace the squad He leads the 78-player field in par four scoring at 4-under and is tied for seventh with eight birdies through two rounds.

Playing as an individual, freshman Mason Overstreet is deadlocked with Kim on the leaderboard at 4-over and T-19th. He added four birdies of his own and bounced back after starting his round 5-over through the first two holes.

Freshman William Buhl had the best round of the day for Arkansas, firing an even-par 71 with three birdies and three bogeys. He is currently T-33rd overall after moving 11 spots up the leaderboard in the second round.

The final round of the Valspar Collegiate tees off Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. CT with Arkansas playing alongside Florida State and Minnesota.
