Hogs Lead Border Olympics After Two Rounds
LAREDO, Texas – Mike Ketcham’s Arkansas golf team led the Border Olympics after two rounds at the par 72, 7,125 yard Laredo Country Club on Friday.

The first round saw the Hogs shoot a combined 276, 12-under par; while in the second, the Razorbacks completed the round with 289 strokes and one over par. As a team, the Hogs led the race with a combined score of 565, 11-under. The Razorbacks led their closest compeition, San Diego State, by seven strokes.

Leading the way for Arkansas is junior Andrew Dahl. Dahl shot a career-best first round 65 and a second round 71, good enough for an 8-under par and second place. Dahl was only one stroke back from the leader, Lamar University’s Mark Van Hoose. Junior Adam Wing was tied for fifth following two rounds, the result of shooting 69 and 71 first and second rounds, respectively. The third junior making the trip, Seth Murphy, isn’t far behind. Tied for 16th, Murphy shot a first round 70 and a second round 74, for a combined even par score of 144.

Freshman Darren Holder hasn’t had a bad tournament thus far, only one stroke over par, shooting even in the first round and 73 in the second round for a 145 and tied for 24th. Rounding out the Razorback team is senior Nick Beach. Beach shot a first round 79 and a second round 80 for a 15-over, 159.

The Razorbacks will continue their quest for the title during Saturday’s final round.
