FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Arkansas volleyball team will return to Barnhill Arena for the first two of a four-match homestand this weekend. The Hogs will host Georgia Friday night at 7 p.m. and LSU Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
All-Time Series vs Georgia
Friday’s match against Georgia will be the 35th meeting between the two teams, with Arkansas holding a 24-10 advantage. The Bulldogs won their last meeting against Arkansas, but the Hogs have gone 8-1 in the last nine meetings.
All-Time Series vs LSU
Sunday’s match against the Tigers will be the 49th meeting between the teams, with the Hogs holding a 28-20 series advantage. Arkansas is 3-2 in its last five match-ups against LSU, though the Tigers have won the last two matches in the series.
Last Time Out
In the Razorbacks’ lone match of last week, then-No. 11 Florida earned a 3-1 victory at home. Arkansas started the match strong, taking the first set before the Gators came back and put the match away in four sets.
Where They Rank
With six matches left in SEC play, the Hogs are tied for eighth place with Georgia in the conference standings. Sophomore Hailey Dirrigl comes in at No. 9 in kills/set, averaging 3.46 with 256 this season. Junior Rachel Rippee is sixth with 8.57 assists/set, recording 660 in 21 matches. Freshman Lauren Evans’ 0.34 aces/set are sixth in the SEC while senior Okiana Valle is at the top of the league with 5.04 digs/set.
Friday night will be the team’s 25th-anniversary celebration, with the first 150 fans receiving an Arkansas volleyball t-shirt. Sunday’s match will be streamed on SEC Network+.
