Hogs Return to Barnhill for Series with Kentucky

The Razorback volleyball team brings the action back to Fayetteville this weekend for a pair of matches on home court with No. 19 Kentucky (8-5, 3-1 SEC).

Friday’s contest is set for 7 p.m. and will serve as Arkansas’ annual Pink Match for breast cancer awareness. The first 1,000 fans to Barnhill will get a pink pom and a Stand Up to Cancer sign for a pre-match recognition. The series finale will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, with both matches streamed live on SEC Network Plus.

The Hogs will get a chance to break in their new playing surface this weekend as well, as the team’s Taraflex court was installed at Barnhill Arena earlier this week. Arkansas joins the company of nine other SEC programs with the floor, and is the only Division I program in the state with Taraflex.

Arkansas has played in front of impressive crowds at home all season, with a record number of season ticket holders and an average attendance of 1,054 so far, the highest in program history. Through eight home matches, the Hogs have had 1,000+ fans in attendance for four, which is more than the entire 2021 season.

The Razorbacks are still looking for another record to fall on Friday in single match attendance, set in 2012 with 3,015 fans present for the team’s home match against Florida. Tickets are available online or in person through the Razorback Ticket Center. Adult tickets are only $5 and kids 17 and under get in free.

Last Time Out
Arkansas headed to Starkville, Miss. last weekend for the team’s first SEC series of the season and came back to the Natural State with a split. The Bulldogs swept the Hogs in Saturday’s opening match, which was the team’s third loss of the season and the only time the Razorbacks have been swept in 2022. Arkansas fought back hard in Sunday’s finale, though, and gritted out its first five-set victory of the season on Sunday, which evened the Hogs’ SEC record to 2-2 and 11-3 overall.
