Hogs Sweep Conference Titles In Athens

ATHENS, Ga. – The Arkansas men’s and women’s cross country teams swept Southeastern Conference titles for the 17th time in program history Friday morning in Athens, Georgia.

In the men’s race, senior Alex George led the Razorbacks’ charge finishing fourth overall with a time of 23:34.30. Jack Bruce and Cameron Griffith finished sixth and seventh overall to round out the Razorbacks in the top-10. In his first race of the season freshman Matt Young finished 11th while Austen Dalquist placed 13th to round out the Razorbacks scoring.

The women’s cross country team placed four in the top eight, led by a second place finish by sophomore Taylor Werner with a time of 20:07.10. Carina Viljoen, Therese Haiss, and Lauren Gregory finished sixth, seventh and eighth respectively while Arkansas’ other scorer in Nikki Hiltz finished 12th. Arkansas score of 35 points was the lowest since 2014 when the Razorbacks scored 32 points.
