FAYETTEVILLE– The Arkansas Razorbacks earned their second sweep of the fall season as they blew away Crowder College 26-0 on Wednesday evening at Bogle Park.
The Hogs kept Crowder scoreless and only allowed four to the plate in the plate with one strikeout. UA earned 10 runs in the first inning starting with freshman Macy Burr who doubled down the right field line. She came back around the line up with a triple and scored off a sacrificed fly by junior Tori Mort.
Freshman Jennifer Rambo picked up two singles against the Lady ‘Riders for two runs. Senior Leslie Dixon went 3-for-3 with two doubles and put two runs on the board.
“We played really well tonight and the team just keeps improving,” head coach mike Larabee said. “The key word for us this week was conquer, and I really think they worked hard to achieve that.”
With 26 runs for the Razorbacks, Larabee said his team had improved greatly from the start of the fall season but had a big weekend ahead with Tulsa.
“This will be a good test for us on Saturday, but I think that tonight really helped us prepare. We need to work on our communication at practice tomorrow with a few of the girls, but our hitting and our defense tonight were looking really good,” Larabee said.
Five runs in the fifth and a triple from Amanda Geile brought the Hogs to a 21-0 lead before sophomore Hope McLemore stepped into the circle in the seventh for two complete innings and struck out four of her six batters faced.
Arkansas picked up five more runs in the bottom of the seventh to cap off the game with a 26-0 win over Crowder College.
The Hogs hit Bogle Field for the first doubleheader of the fall schedule on Saturday, Oct. 2, against Tulsa. The first of the twin bill is set for 1 p.m.
