Hogs Wrap Up On-Campus Preparations for Alabam

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas finished up its on-campus preparations for this weekend’s battle with Southeastern Conference rival Alabama with a 90-minute workout in shorts and shoulder pads on Thursday afternoon.
With the postponement of last weekend’s action, neither squad has played a game since Sept. 8. Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt says that the signs are pretty clear that his squad is ready to see some game action.
“I liked the concentration they had,” Nutt said. “You can tell they are ready to play. They are ready to get back on the field. It seems like a long, long time since we’ve played a game. I know they are going to feel good about getting back on the field.”
Arkansas has experimented this week with different personnel at several positions including on the offensive line. Nutt says that it is simply an effort to try to get the most talent on the field on every play.
“We are going to do everything we can to do better,” Nutt said. “We haven’t been very good. It’s not out of desperation or that we have given up on kids, we are just trying to put the best on the field. We want to make some first downs and keep the clock going.”
The Hogs will travel by private air charter to Tuscaloosa tomorrow morning before taking on the Crimson Tide on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The 2:30 p.m. game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports.
