Hogs and Dogs set for Wednesday night

The University of Arkansas went 2-0 last week in a pair of Southeastern Conference games and takes that momentum into a very tough contest against a talented Georgia Bulldog squad at Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday night at 8 p.m.

With winter weather conditions throughout Northwest Arkansas, the Razorback Athletic Department strongly encourages all fans to use their best judgment in regards to determining their attendance at Wednesday’s game. Fans planning to make their way to Bud Walton Arena should allow extra time and proceed with caution when traveling to and from the facility as well as when walking around, to and from the building.

Arkansas (14-6, 4-3 SEC) is second in the SEC’s Western Division and gets three of its next four games at home. The Razorbacks are coming off a huge win at No. 19 Vanderbilt on Saturday and picked up the road victory despite two of its starting front court players, Delvon Johnson and Marshawn Powell, playing a combined 25 minutes and scoring nine points.

Aiding the Razorbacks along was the stellar play of junior shooting guard Rotnei Clarke who earned SEC Player of the Week honors for his SEC career high 36 points and 75% shooting. Clarke was nearly automatic in the game as he found his shots and the strong play of Michael Sanchez in the interior certainly helped free up shots.

Georgia (14-6, 3-4 SEC) is coming off a pair of losses at home to Florida in double overtime and on the road at Kentucky. The Bulldogs have dropped three of their last four games after opening SEC play by winning two of three including a victory over Kentucky at home. The Bulldogs are led by Trey Thompkins who averages 17.1 points and 7.6 rebounds and Travis Leslie (14.5 ppg, 7.1 rpg). The tandem makes up one of the best front courts in the conference and will be a tough task for the Razorbacks.

The Arkansas-Georgia game will be broadcast on the radio across the Razorback Sports Network from IMG College with Chuck Barrett and Rick Schaeffer giving the call. The game will also be carried live on TV by Comcast Sports with Dave Baker and Will Perdue calling the action.

As always fans are encouraged to monitor ArkansasRazorbacks.com for any updates or changes to Razorback Athletic events.

Following the contest with Georgia, Arkansas stays at Bud Walton Arena for a game against Ole Miss on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 5 p.m.
