Hogs begin spring at Auburn Spring Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The spring season gets underway this weekend for the University of Arkansas men’s tennis team, which travels to Auburn, Ala. for the Auburn Spring Classic this Friday through Sunday. While at Auburn, the Hogs will face tough competitors from Auburn, Virginia Tech and LSU.The Classic will be the team’s first event of the spring and the first event for any of the Razorbacks since Blake Strode and Matt Hogan played at the ITA Intercollegiate National Indoor Championships back in November. Both Strode and Hogan are ranked to being the dual season, Strode moving from his preseason singles ranking of No. 41 to No. 15 and Hogan jumping 86 spots from No. 125 to No. 39. In the central region, Strode and Hogan rank No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, in singles.

Not ranked in doubles during the preseason, Strode and Hogan now rank No. 14 in the country after impressive wins over the preseason No. 32 team of Attila Bucko and Jordan Rux of Baylor and the No. 45 duo of Chris Chirico and Wil Spencer from Texas A&M.
